Bengaluru: The Bengaluru South City Corporation has successfully cleared an encroachment on public park land at Gubbalala village under the Uttarahalli Sub-Division, reclaiming government land valued at approximately ₹3 crore.
According to officials, a park land measuring 26,831 square metres is located at Survey No. 01, Jayanagar Co-operative Society, 1st Phase, Gubbalala. Of this, around 3,000 square metres had been encroached upon through the erection of an unauthorized stone fencing.
On February 10, 2026, at around 9:00 a.m., officials of the Uttarahalli Sub-Division, with police protection, carried out a clearance operation and removed the illegal fencing. The action resulted in the recovery of encroached government land measuring about 3,000 square metres, restoring it to the City Corporation.
The operation was conducted in the presence of the Assistant Executive Engineer of the Uttarahalli Sub-Division and other civic officials. Confirming the action, K. N. Ramesh said the clearance was part of ongoing efforts to protect public spaces and prevent unauthorized occupation of park land.
Civic officials stated that similar drives would continue across Bengaluru South to safeguard government properties and ensure that designated public spaces remain free from encroachment.
