Bengaluru, Feb 21: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has signed a definitive agreement with Prestige Beta Projects Private Limited (Prestige Group), granting naming rights for the Bellandur Metro Station on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Corridor under Phase-2A.
As per the agreement, the station will be officially renamed “Prestige Bellandur Metro Station” for a period of 30 years from the date of commencement of commercial operations.
The naming rights agreement is valued at ₹80 crore. An additional ₹10 crore will be payable if the developer opts to construct an exclusive pedestrian skywalk connecting the station directly to its adjacent property, taking the total potential value of the partnership to ₹90 crore.
BMRCL stated that the move is part of its broader strategy to enhance non-fare revenue streams and improve the long-term financial sustainability of the Metro network without compromising public ownership.
Under the arrangement, Prestige Group will undertake approved enhancement and finishing works within the station premises to improve passenger amenities and interior standards. The company will also be responsible for upkeep and maintenance in coordination with BMRCL, adhering strictly to safety and design regulations.
Despite the commercial partnership, the station will remain a public asset under BMRCL’s ownership and operational control at all times.
The agreement also includes limited interior advertising rights of up to 1,000 sq. ft. and allocation of 3,000 sq. ft. of commercial space within the station premises. Provision has been made at the planning stage for a future pedestrian bridge, subject to regulatory approvals.
BMRCL officials described the deal as a milestone in leveraging private participation to strengthen metro infrastructure while retaining operational integrity.
Commenting on the partnership, Juggy Marwaha, representing Prestige Group, said the collaboration demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting Bengaluru’s expanding urban mobility network, particularly in the rapidly growing IT and commercial hub along the ORR corridor.
Bellandur Metro Station is expected to serve a significant commuter base across Bengaluru’s major technology and business districts, making it a key node in the city’s transit-oriented development framework.
