BENGALURU:
Karnataka has the third largest number of Covid-19 cases in the country with 76 testing positive, and around 1,000 contacts of these cases are under the scanner.
The health and family welfare department is not leaving any stone unturned to trace these contacts. At a presser on Saturday evening, Health commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey said all these contacts will be screened very closely and kept under strict vigil.
“All these 1,000 contacts are primary contacts of all the positive cases reported in Karnataka till today and are being monitored very carefully,” he said.
Pandey added: “Primary contacts who have more risk factors will be immediately admitted to the isolated hospitals while other contacts with very low risk will be shifted to guesthouses or hotels which have been taken over by the government.”
