Mortality rate jumps to 2.04 % for Bengaluru, 2.05% for state
BENGALURU:
There is no let-up in the dubious Covid records being set by Karnataka as a whole and Bengaluru in particular. On Friday, deaths statewide were 115, of which 75 were in Bengaluru. On Thursday, the state had recorded 104 deaths, of which 70 were in Bengaluru.
The positive cases in the state now stand at 55,115.

The total number of deaths in the state now stands at 1,147. With this, Thursday’s mortality rate of 2.0% for Bengaluru and 2.01% for Karnataka has increased to 2.04% and 2.05% respectively. Notably, just 3 days ago on July 14, the mortality rates for Bengaluru and the state were 1.63 % and 1.82% respectively.

As per data shared by Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar, Karnataka now has 33,205 active cases, inclusive of 3,693 cases on Friday. Bengaluru’s numbers alone are 20,623 active cases, inclusive of 2,208 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
The state saw 1,028 discharges on Friday, taking the overall recovery rate to 37.66 %, while Bengaluru witnessed 338 discharges, taking its proportional recovery rate to 22.88%.
