BENGALURU:
Two young women who were driving rashly gave the cops a tough time before they were apprehended on Sunday.
Around 11.40 am, the duo, identified as Madhumita Nataraja and Shakti Nayar, sped past the police checkpost near Leela Palace check post.
“The police inspector attached to the JB Nagar police station chased the car for 1 km and made the girls stop. They had misused the curfew pass and also misbehaved with our team,” said DCP ( East) Sharanappa S.D, adding, “The essential service pass was issued by Mandya Deputy Commissioner and the matter is under investigation.”
“They managed to escape but our women’s team traced them and took them into custody. The JB Nagar police have booked them under sections 353, 271, 279, 504, 188 and section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act. Also, the pass they has been cancelled,” Sharanappa added.
