BENGALURU:
Following complaints from the public, the CCB police conducted a drive on Tuesday in Hennur, Bagalur, Kothanur and Sampigehalli, and arrested 3 African nationals for dealing in fake currency and 20 for illegal stay.
The team was supervised by Joint Commissioner (Crime) Sandeep Patil, and DCPs Kuldeep Kumar R Jain and KP Ravikumar, and led by 5 ACPs and 18 police inspectors.
City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant tweeted: “Special drive undertaken by CCB, Bangalore police against illegal staying of foreigners. Today early morning, team of 120 CCB officers raided houses in Hennur, Bagalur, Kothanur and checked 85 foreigners. Found 20 Africans to be staying without valid passport and visa…Also, fake currency of Indian rupees, US dollars, UK pounds seized…Laptops seized and it is suspected that they are involved in cyber offences.”
