Karnataka cases 384, deaths 14
BENGALURU:
The goverent’s decision to seal Bapuji Nagar and Padarayanapura wards in Bengauru was vindicated as 3 more Covid-19 positive cases were reported from the latter ward on Saturday. This takes Karnataka’s tally to 384 while one death reported in Vijayapura district takes the state”s death toll to 14.
Padarayanapura alone has recorded 11 positive cases, while the state recorded 25 new Covid-19 positive cases in a single day. Among the 32 Covid-19 affected wards in Bengaluru, as many as 11cases have been detected in Padarayanapura ward.
As per the evening media bulletin, a 42-year-old male died after a heart attack in Vijayapura, though he was a suspected Covid-19 case and was named patient 374. He was a contact of patients 306 and 308. He died on Thursday, April 16, and was confirmed positive on Saturday.
Of Saturday’s cases, Bagalkot reported 7, Mysore 7, Kalaburagi and Vijayapura two each, and Hubbali, Belagavi, Mandya and Gadag one each.
According to the state government, Bengaluru City has 89 positive cases, Mysuru 80, Belagavi 42, Bagalkot 21, Bellary 13, Bengaluru Rural 12, Bidar 14, Chikkaballapur 16, Dakshina Kannada 12, Chitradurga 1, Davanagere 2, Dharwad 7, Gadag 2, Kalaburgi 22, Kodagu 1, Mandya 12, Tumkur 2, Udupi 3, Uttara Kannada 11 and Vijayapura 21. Of these, 104 cases are fully recovered, while 266 cases are active.
