
Only one Covid case detected
BENGALURU:
A total of 317 NRIs landed at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from San Francisco, Muscat and Dammam on Wednesday and Thursday. Of these, only one Covid-19 positive case was identified and sent to the Rajiv Gandhi hospital.
The flight from San Francisco, ferrying 117 NRIs, arrived at 8.30 am on Thursday. After health checks on the passengers, the Air India flight took off from KIA for Hyderabad.
115 NRIs from Muscat arrived at 7 pm and 85 from Dammam arrived at 9 pm on Wednesday.
Bangalore Rural District Deputy Commissioner PN Ravindra said, “Health checks were done on 115 from Muscat and 85 from Dammam. One of the passengers from Dammam was detected with symptoms of the coronavirus and was sent to the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital. The remaining 199 passengers were sent to 14-day government quarantine in BMTC buses.”
