BENGALURU: In Bengaluru, Parappana Agrahara Jail has assigned under-trial prisoner number 4567 to JDS MLA H.D. Revanna.
The 17th ACMM Court has ordered a 7-day judicial custody for HD Revanna, a JDS MLA from the Holenarasipur Constituency, in connection with a kidnapping case. As a result, Revanna was admitted to Parappana Agrahara Jail, where he was given the under-trial prisoner number. This number is assigned to all accused individuals entering the jail, and Revanna’s under-trial number is 4567.
Revanna spent a night in the quarantine cell of the Central Jail, where he ate the same food as other prisoners, including mudde (Ragi Ball), chapati, rice, and sambar. Despite his previous luxurious lifestyle as a politician and MLA, he accepted the clothes provided by his family and spent the night in silence, pondering until 1 am before falling asleep.
Due to concerns about Revanna’s health, prison authorities closely monitored him throughout the night, assigning a guard to his room. He woke up at 5:30 am (on Thursday).
Earlier on Wednesday he was brought before the 17th ACMM as the SIT custody period had ended. Following arguments from both sides, the trial judge ordered Revanna to remain in judicial custody until March 14.
Additionally, a bail application for HD Revanna was discussed in the Special Court of People’s Representatives, with the hearing adjourned to the following day to allow the SIT time to file objections.
