Mysuru man had transited KIA,Contact tracing on in all cases
4 tested positive in Bengaluru, one in Mysuru
BENGALURU:
In a worrying development, Karnataka registered five new Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the state’s total to 20.
Health department additional chief secretary Javed Akhtar revealed details of the 5 cases, of whom 4 have been isolated in Bengaluru and one in Mysuru.
# Patient 16: A 53-year-female from Bengaluru tested positive on Saturday. She is a high-risk contact (housemaid) of patient 11 and was on strict home quarantine. She is now admitted in a designated isolation hospital in Bengaluru.
# Patient 17: A 39-year-old male from Bengaluru, who came from Amsterdam, the Netherlands on March 19, tested positive on Saturday. He is now admitted in a designated isolation hospital in Bengaluru.
# Patient 18: A 21-year-old male from Bengaluru tested positive. He returned from Edinburgh, Scotland on March 17. He is now admitted in a designated isolation hospital in Bengaluru.
# Patient 19: A 31-year-old male from Chikkaballapura with a history of travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He returned to India on March 14 and tested positive on Saturday. He is now admitted in a designated isolation hospital in Bengaluru.
# Patient 20: A male aged 35 years from Mysuru tested positive on Saturday. He arrived in India on March 19 from Dubai and transited through Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. He is now admitted in a designated isolation hospital in Mysuru.
Contact tracing has been initiated in all the cases.
