Widening the net in the investigation of irregularities at the Bengaluru-based Sri Guru Raghaendra Co-operative Bank, ACB officials on Monday raided the residences of major ‘borrowers’ of the bank in different parts of the city, including Yeshwantpur and HBR Layout.

As per sources, a resident of Yeshwantpur had ‘borrowed’ Rs 140 crore from the bank, while a resident of HBR Layout had taken Rs 150 crore and another person had taken a ‘loan’ of Rs 40 crore.
On June 18, the ACB had raided the office of the bank as well as residences of its officials.
Sri Guru Raghavendra Bank allegedly disbursed ‘loans’ of Rs 1,700 crore in contravention of RBI regualtions. A complaint has been filed by the bank’s depositors in the Karnataka High Court.
