Rs 25 lakh bribe allegedly taken to allow tobacco sales during lockdown
BENGALURU:
On instructions of the government, the Anti Corruption Bureau has filed FIRs against three CCB sleuths for allegedly taking bribes of Rs 25 lakh to allow the illegal sale of tobaco products duing the lockdown in the city
The suspended officers are ACP M Prabhushankar and Inspectors R M Ajay and Niranjan Kumar.
According to a preliminary inquiry, the accused had contacted the tobacco product distributors through a middleman.
Similarly, a preliminary inquiry by the police department found that a bribe had been taken to assist the accused in a case filed by the Banaswadi police against fake N-95 mask sellers.
