
40,000 people vaccinated so far in Malleswaram by DyCM’s foundation

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of vaccination in the Malleswaram constituency, DyCM and state Covid task force head Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said on Saturday that those who have not got vaccinated are being identified by visiting individual houses.
Speaking to the media after launching a vaccination camp at Sri Venkateshwara School in Mattikere, the DyCM noted that so far 81 camps have been held in Malleswaram constituency by the Dr CN Ashwath Narayan Foundation in collaboration with private institutions.
Dr Narayan said 40,000 people have been inoculated so far free of cost by his foundation. The DyCM, who also the MLA from the constituency, asked people to follow Covid-apppropriate behaviour even after getting vaccinated.

Private vaccine donors
He expressed gratitude to the ACT Fibernet company for donating more than 5,000 vaccines for the day’s camp conducted in Mattikere. As of now, private companies have donated 12 lakh vaccines as against the government’s aim to get 30 lakh vaccines from them in the form of donations, he said.
Overall, 2 crore people have been jabbed in the state. Of these, 1.7 crore have received the first dose and 30 lakh have completed both doses. Out of the total population, 37% have been vaccinated in the state, the DyCM said.
Bala Malladi, CEO, ACT Fibernet, and Sunil Yajamane, Head of ACT corporate affairs, were present at the camp.

‘Door-to-door survey across city’
Speaking to TheBengaluruLive, BBMP Special Commissioner (Health) D Randeep said the door-to-door survey is meant to identify those who are yet to be vaccinated.
The exercise has been taken up in all BBMP zones, following which camps are being conducted to vaccinate eligible persons, Randeep added.
