Rs 12 crore sanctioned for renovation of century-old Hafiziya school
BENGALURU:
A 100-year-old civic school is getting a makeover by BBMP with the objective making it a world-class structure. On Saturday, the ground-breaking ceremony for the renovation work on Hafiziya school was attended by Shivajinagar MLA Rizwan Arshad and BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta.
According to the MLA, the renovated and fully-equipped school building will be a boon to students of the area.

Education Design International institution has designed the school renovation plan free of charge. Gaurav Gupta said the old structure would be retained while work on the new wing will be completed in 9 to12 months.
The Palike has sanctioned Rs 12 crore for the project and a tender has been called. The civic agency plans to take up a similar renovation of other BBMP schools.

Work on Russell Market road
Meanwhile, as part of the Smart City work in Shivajinagar ward, the road running alongside Russell Market will get a makeover. BBMP has also constructed a dialysis centre for the public in Vasanthnagar ward.
Zonal Commissioner Manoz Jain, Joint Commissioner Pallavi, BBMP engineers and other officials were present at the ground-breaking function.
