Bengaluru/Visakhapatnam: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) eKhata initiative has been conferred the National eGovernance Award 2025 at the 28th National eGovernance Conference in Visakhapatnam, marking a major milestone in the city’s digital governance journey.
The eKhata project, conceptualized under the vision of Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Incharge Minister D.K. Shivakumar, was recognized for its innovative digitization of property records, enhanced transparency, and improved citizen service delivery in Bengaluru.

The prestigious award was presented by Union Minister of State, PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, and received on behalf of Karnataka by ACS (UDD) Tushar Giri Nath, Special Commissioner (GBA) Munish Moudgil, JC (Revenue) Lakshmidevi, Sr. Technical Director (NIC) Suresh Babu, along with the entire eKhata team of Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).

Officials said the recognition underlines Bengaluru’s leadership in smart governance, technology-driven administration, and digital property management systems.
“This is a proud moment for Karnataka and Bengaluru. The eKhata platform will continue to empower citizens with efficient, transparent, and accessible property services,” said officials present at the event.
