BENGALURU:
In a significant move, the BDA has taken possession of a valuable land worth 150 crores in HBR Layout. This action comes after the Karnataka State Government issued a final notification in 1985, declaring the property as belonging to the Bangalore Development Authority. The 2.20 acre land, estimated to be worth about Rs 150 crore, has now been cleared and handed over to the authority.
The eviction process involved meticulous planning and coordination. N. Jayaram, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority, held discussions with the authority’s legal cell officials. Seeking their advice, he then provided clear instructions for the eviction process. The operation was executed systematically, involving a team of 100 workers, 200 officials, and 15 officials from the Bangalore Development Authority.

This decisive action by the BDA demonstrates their commitment to upholding the law and reclaiming illegally constructed buildings. The seizure of this valuable land sends a strong message to those who engage in unauthorized construction activities. The BDA remains dedicated to ensuring the proper use and development of land in Bangalore, in accordance with legal regulations.
