Belagavi: Another blackbuck has died due to sneezing at the Rani Chennamma Mini Zoo located in Bhutaramanahatti, Belagavi, increasing the total number of blackbuck deaths to 31 in recent days.
Amid this ongoing series of animal deaths at the zoo, District In-charge Minister Satish Jarakiholi held a special meeting with forest department officials. He emphasized the urgent need to implement necessary precautionary measures to prevent the spread of infection to other animals.
Meanwhile, N. Rangaswamy, Chairman of the Karnataka Zoo Authority, visited the zoo to assess the situation. He is currently collecting information from officials regarding the causes of death and the steps taken to control the situation.
