Feature in Centre list of 170 hotspots
BENGALURU:
Eight districts in Karnataka, including Bengaluru Urban, have the dubious distinction of being named ‘hotspot’ districts across the country.
The Union government has released a list of 170 hotspot districts in which Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Bagalkot and Dharwad feature.
Bengaluru and Kalaburagi have registered three deaths of the 12 reported from Karnataka. This apart, Bengaluru has more than 80 positive cases while Mysuru has become the biggest cluster area because of the Nanjangud pharmaceutical company which accounts for more than 40 positive cases. Belagavi has more than 20 cases and one death reported, while the other hotspot districts have an equal number of positive cases.
