Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has detained former MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) Commissioner Dinesh in connection with the ongoing probe into the MUDA case.
According to sources, Dinesh had been summoned to the ED office in Bengaluru today for questioning. He appeared before the officials as per the notice, but after hours of interrogation, the officers did not allow him to leave and kept him in custody for further inquiry.
ED sources said Dinesh allegedly failed to provide satisfactory answers during questioning, raising the possibility of formal arrest. Officials are scrutinising his role in alleged irregularities linked to land allotments and financial transactions under MUDA.
The ED had earlier registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following allegations of large-scale corruption and irregularities in MUDA. Several other officials and beneficiaries are likely to be summoned in the coming days as the investigation expands.
The detention of Dinesh marks a significant development in the case, which has triggered political ripples across Karnataka.
