The state capital’s situation is turning graver by the day. Not only were there 500-plus cases reported for the fifth consecutive day, there were no discharges for the third time in the last four days. On Wednesday, Bengaluru reported 735 fresh Covid cases and two deaths out of the 7 deaths statewide.
Bengaluru now has the highest number of infected cases in Karnataka at 5,290, of which 4,649 are active, while it is just 3 short of the 100 deaths mark.
Wednesday’s two victims were a man and a woman, both 50, with symptoms of fever, coughing and breathlessness, as well as conditions like hypertension and asthma.

Karnataka recorded the highest single-day number of infections at 1,272 while registering 145 discharges. The state now has a total of 16,514 positive cases, while discharges are 8,063.
