
BENGALURU: Two college students were stripped and assaulted by a group of seven individuals from the same college near Rajanukunte in Bengaluru. The incident occurred at Yelahanka New Town following a disagreement over a minor issue.
The seven accused individuals have been apprehended by the Yelahanka New Town police.
The victims, identified as Krishna and Yuvaraj, had visited a rental accommodation where some of their fellow students resided. Subsequently, the group of seven locked them inside the house, physically assaulted them, and forcibly stripped them. Additionally, they recorded a video of the victims and issued threats.
Following a formal complaint lodged at the Yelahanka New Town police station, the seven perpetrators were taken into custody.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East), B M Laxmi Prasad, revealed that one of the accused, Anamitra, was attacked during a clash and sought revenge by targeting two innocent individuals. The accused viciously assaulted the two students with a rod and wooden sticks, keeping them confined in a house from 2 pm to 8 pm. Shockingly, the victims were also burned with cigarettes during the ordeal. Additionally, the accused coerced the victims into transferring Rs 50,000 through Phone Pay by issuing threats. They further demanded Rs 4 lakh from the boys under duress. A case of dacoity has been filed against the accused, who have been remanded to judicial custody.
