Bengaluru: A massive fire broke out at Vishal Tribotech Pvt. Ltd. oil factory in Heelalige, Anekal, on Friday morning, engulfing the entire unit within minutes. The blaze, which spread rapidly due to large quantities of stored oil barrels, caused property damage worth several lakhs, though no casualties have been reported so far.
According to officials, the fire erupted suddenly and spread across the premises, with flames and thick black smoke rising high into the sky. Fire and Emergency Services teams rushed to the spot and are continuing operations to douse the flames.
Eyewitnesses said that as soon as the fire broke out, workers managed to escape, preventing any loss of life. However, several drums stored inside the factory are said to have burst during the fire, intensifying the blaze.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Surya Nagar Police Station, and preliminary investigations are underway to determine the exact cause. Officials suspect an oil leak or a possible short circuit as potential triggers for the fire.
Authorities confirmed that while the material loss is significant, the situation is now under control. Firefighters are still engaged in cooling operations to prevent a flare-up.
