Bengaluru: Change waste disposal methods, work efficiently and ensure proper implementation, Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar instructed today while inspecting several areas under his jurisdiction.
During the early morning inspection in Banaswadi and Subbaiyapalya, the Commissioner noticed garbage heaps along the roadsides and several black spots of waste dumping. He directed officials to clear the waste immediately and warned that strict monitoring must be enforced.
Sunil Kumar also held discussions with local residents on the garbage disposal problems and directed marshals to impose fines on those throwing waste on streets. He ordered marshals to conduct night patrolling in vulnerable areas to identify violators and levy penalties, ensuring the menace of black spots does not recur.
The Commissioner emphasized that the entire solid waste management staff must change their working style and take complete responsibility to ensure effective garbage clearance. “If the waste management process does not improve, action will be taken against negligent officials and staff,” he cautioned.
Later, Sunil Kumar inspected the transfer station at HBR Layout in Sarvagnanagar and issued further directions for streamlining operations.
On the occasion, officials and staff recalled the values of truth, non-violence, and cleanliness espoused by Mahatma Gandhi, paying homage to the Father of the Nation.
Joint Commissioner Mohammad Nayim Momin and other senior officials accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
