Bengaluru: In a tragic incident highlighting Bengaluru’s pothole menace, a 22-year-old B.Com student, Dhanushree, lost her life after her two-wheeler collided with a tipper lorry near Budigere Cross on Monday morning (September 29).
According to police, Dhanushree was on her way to college when she attempted to avoid a pothole on the road, causing her bike to lose balance. A speeding tipper lorry rammed into her vehicle, and as she fell, the heavy vehicle ran over her, killing her instantly.
Following the accident, the tipper driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle. Officers from KR Puram Traffic Police Station rushed to the scene for investigation. Police confirmed that an FIR has been registered at the Avalahalli Police Station based on a complaint filed by Dhanushree’s mother.
Dhanushree, a second-year commerce student, was described as bright and ambitious. Her untimely death has once again sparked concerns about Bengaluru’s poor road infrastructure, pothole accidents, and civic negligence, raising demands for immediate road safety measures.
