With 3 more deaths, Karnataka’s virus toll is 69
120 new infections take state’s tally to 6,041
BENGALURU:
The capital city of Karnataka saw its highest single-day count of 42 Covid-positive cases on Wednesday even as 3 deaths were reported, including 2 from Bengaluru. The state’s death toll is now 69.
With 120 new infections on Wednesday, the number of Covid-19 cases in the state is now 6,041. On the flip side, 257 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. Of the 3,108 active cases, 14 are in ICUs.
Of the 120 Covid-19 cases, 68 have an international travel history.
The deaths include a 58-year-old man from Dharwad who arrived from Maharashtra and was hospitalized on May 23. A 32-year-old man from Bengaluru city died while being taken to a hospital. A 57-year-old man in Bengaluru was hospitalized on June 8 with a fever and cough, and died without treatment.
State-wise, 42 cases were reported in Bengaluru, 27 in Yadgir, 13 in Kalaburagi, 11 in Bidar, 4 each in Dakshina Kannada and Dharwad, 3 in Davanagere, Hassan and Ballari, and 2 each in Bagalkot and Ramanagara and one in Belagavi.
