Bengaluru: In a tragic road accident, a six-year-old girl lost her life after falling from a two-wheeler while riding with her father in west Bengaluru. The incident occurred within the limits of the Vijayanagar Traffic Police Station.
The deceased child has been identified as Harika (6), daughter of Parameshwar, a resident of Nandini Layout. According to police, the incident took place around 6 pm on Wednesday (January 14) near the Shivanhalli down ramp on West of Chord Road.
Parameshwar was riding the two-wheeler with his daughter seated behind him when he applied sudden brakes. As a result, the child lost balance and fell onto the road, sustaining serious injuries.
Harika was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries around 9 pm the same night.
The Vijayanagar Traffic Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are conducting further investigation. Police have reiterated the need for enhanced child safety measures while travelling on two-wheelers, especially within city limits.
