Bengaluru: Real estate businessman and Chairman of Confident Group, CJ Roy, was found dead in Bengaluru on Friday, police sources said.
According to preliminary information, CJ Roy is suspected to have died by suicide after sustaining a gunshot injury. However, the exact circumstances leading to his death are under investigation, and no official conclusion has been drawn at this stage.
Sources indicated that the businessman may have been under significant mental stress following repeated searches conducted by officials of the Income Tax Department. It is being reported that an IT search operation was carried out earlier in the day as well. Police have not yet officially confirmed whether these developments had a direct link to the incident.
Personnel from the Ashok Nagar Police Station rushed to the spot upon receiving information and are conducting a detailed examination of the scene. Statements are being recorded, and all possible angles are being verified as part of the investigation.
Police officials said further details regarding the cause of death and surrounding circumstances would emerge after completion of the inquiry and procedural formalities.
