Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara.
Bengaluru: The investigation into the Biklu Shiva murder case has intensified, with law enforcement agencies stepping up efforts to trace MLA Bairati Basavaraj. A coordinated search operation has been underway across Bengaluru, with the CID reportedly deploying multiple teams as part of its strategy.
Amid mounting speculation, Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara addressed the issue, stating that if Basavaraj voluntarily surrenders, it would be preferable. “If he comes forward and cooperates, it is better. Otherwise, the police will trace him,” the Minister said.
Sources indicate that the CID has searched several locations in Bengaluru in connection with the case. However, information has emerged suggesting that Basavaraj may have travelled to Dubai nearly a week ago. Officials are yet to formally confirm the details but are examining travel records as part of the ongoing probe.
Investigators believe that the possibility of bail becoming uncertain may have influenced the current developments. It is also reported that Basavaraj’s mobile phone has been switched off, and he has not been reachable, adding to speculation about his whereabouts.
The court has reportedly issued relevant orders in connection with the case, further intensifying the legal scrutiny. Meanwhile, police have stated that all procedural steps are being followed and that efforts to locate him are ongoing.
The Biklu Shiva murder case has already triggered political ripples in Karnataka, and the latest developments are likely to keep the spotlight firmly on the unfolding investigation.
