Bengaluru: In his first major organisational decision after assuming charge as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National President, Nitin Nabin has announced key leadership appointments to steer the party’s campaign for the Greater Bengaluru Corporation elections.
The BJP has constituted a high-profile national-level election management team, drawing seasoned leaders from across the country to oversee strategy, coordination, and ground operations in Karnataka’s capital.
According to an official party release, the following appointments have been made with immediate effect:
- Election In-Charge: Ram Madhav, former BJP National General Secretary
- Election Co-In-Charge: Satish Poonia, former Rajasthan BJP State President
- Election Co-In-Charge: Sanjay Upadhyay, Member of Legislative Assembly, Maharashtra
The announcement formally marks the beginning of BJP’s on-ground election preparations for the Greater Bengaluru civic polls, a high-stakes contest viewed as politically crucial for both the state and national leadership.
Party sources indicate that the appointment of Ram Madhav—known for his organisational acumen and electoral management experience—signals BJP’s intent to run a tightly coordinated, centrally monitored campaign in Bengaluru.
“This appointment comes into immediate effect,” the party said, underscoring the urgency and priority accorded to the Bengaluru elections under Nitin Nabin’s leadership.
The Greater Bengaluru Corporation polls are expected to be a litmus test for BJP’s urban governance narrative, especially in the backdrop of intense political competition in Karnataka.
