Eranna Kadadi filing nomination for Rajya Sabha
BENGALURU:
The BJP’s ‘surprise’ choices for the June 19 RS polls from Karnataka, Eranna Kadadi and Ashok Gasti, on Tuesday filed their nominations at the office of Legislative Assembly Secretary M K Vishalakshi, who is the returning officer. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi were present on the occasion.
Ahead of the nominations, Kateel gave a ‘B-form’ to both the candidates. The BJP’s central leadership had opted for Kadadi and Gasti in what was a slap in the face for the state unit. The local unit’s choice of tycoons Ramesh Katti, Prabhakar Kore and Prakash Shetty apparently cut no ice with the top brass in Delhi.
