Mysuru, October 25: In a significant relief for beneficiaries affected by the recent ration card revision, Food and Civil Supplies Minister K.H. Muniyappa today announced that eligible cardholders who were mistakenly moved from the BPL (Below Poverty Line) to APL (Above Poverty Line) category will have their cards revalidated within 48 hours after verification.
The Minister made this announcement after inaugurating the Food Department’s exhibition pavilion at the Dasara Exhibition Grounds in Mysuru, organized by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs.
“If any eligible beneficiary has been wrongly shifted from BPL to APL during the ration card revision process, they can approach their respective tahsildar offices with a representation. Verification will be conducted immediately, and the card will be reissued within two days,” Muniyappa assured.
He emphasized that the department is committed to ensuring no eligible family is deprived of benefits under the Anna Bhagya scheme, and special instructions have been issued to expedite all genuine revalidation requests.
The Minister added that the government is also preparing to launch the ‘Indira Kit’, which will include food grains and essential household items for low-income families in the coming months.
