Bengaluru: On the eve of Ayudha Pooja celebrations, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has appealed to citizens to use Cauvery water responsibly and avoid unnecessary wastage during cleaning rituals.
Speaking to the media, BWSSB Chairman Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar emphasized that while water can be used for festive cleanliness activities, it must be done sparingly and with awareness.
“Cauvery water is both sacred and precious, and it must be used only for rightful purposes. Citizens should avoid wastage and adopt a responsible, conservation-oriented approach to water usage, especially during festivals,” Dr. Manohar said.
He observed that many households and establishments carry out extensive washing and cleaning during Ayudha Pooja, and reminded the public that drinking water resources are limited. “Let us celebrate responsibly while ensuring that essential water resources are preserved for the community,” he added.
