Bengaluru: The Bengaluru City Cyber Crime Police have registered a cyber-terror case after receiving a chilling email that not only threatened serial bomb blasts across the city, but also dared the police to “call us if you want to pay and not let this happen.”
The FIR was filed on November 30, 2025, against unknown persons under Section 66(F) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, which deals with acts of cyber terrorism.

According to the complaint, at 11:53 AM on November 30, an email was received from mohit**@gmail.com*, claiming to be from the “Jaish-e-Mohammed White Collar Terror Team.” The email warned that bomb blasts would begin in Bengaluru from 7 PM onwards.
In a brazen move, the sender explicitly listed high-profile targets, including:
- Kempegowda International Airport
- Orion Mall
- Lulu Mall
- Forum South Mall
- Mantri Square Mall
The email then issued a direct extortion challenge:
“Call us if you want to pay and not let this happen,”
and added a mobile number starting with +91 93. Significantly, the message was also copied to the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, turning it into an open dare to the city’s top cop and the law-enforcement system.
Police sources said that, immediately after the email landed, security was stepped up at all the listed locations. Bomb squads, local police and security teams conducted detailed checks at the airport and malls, but no suspicious object or activity was found.
While preliminary checks have ruled out any immediate danger, investigators say the extortion language and the direct challenge to the Commissioner have placed the case firmly in the category of cyber-terror and “white-collar” intimidation, rather than a routine hoax mail.
The Cyber Crime Police are now working to trace the origin of the email, identify those behind the “Jaish-e-Mohammed White Collar Terror Team” signature, and determine whether the threat is linked to any organised extortion or terror network.
