Bengaluru: In a relief to residents, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has resumed Cauvery water supply one day ahead of schedule. The supply had been disrupted for three days due to emergency maintenance work.
According to BWSSB officials, staff worked round the clock to complete the planned Cauvery water maintenance operations that were originally scheduled until September 17. However, the works were completed on time, allowing supply to restart this morning itself.
BWSSB Chairman Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar confirmed the development and said, “All phases of the Cauvery water maintenance project were taken up as planned. Despite the scale of the work, our teams ensured completion a day earlier, restoring water supply without further inconvenience to the public.”
The resumption of supply comes as a major relief to several areas of Bengaluru that were dependent on water tankers during the shutdown.
