Three people were killed and five others injured after an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 jolted Wushi county in the Aksu Prefecture in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region at around 2 am (local time) on Tuesday, China-based Global Times reported. A total of 47 houses have collapsed and houses across the county have suffered varying degrees of damage. All students in the earthquake-hit region were safely evacuated, with no casualties reported among them.
