Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday clarified that the Karnataka government has not targeted any particular organisation through its recent directive requiring prior permission for conducting public events or activities that may inconvenience citizens.
Speaking to reporters at his residence in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said, “The order only mandates obtaining permission to hold processions or public activities in open spaces to ensure public order and safety. No specific organisation has been singled out.”
The clarification came in response to the controversy surrounding the RSS route march in Kundapura. The Chief Minister pointed out that a similar order was earlier issued by the previous BJP government led by Jagadish Shettar, and at that time, no one had objected.
“Our government has followed the same model. The BJP should stop politicising every administrative order and instead focus on public welfare. The police department will ensure that law and order is maintained,” he stated.
Contractor Dues Issue
When asked about contractors threatening to approach the Governor over pending bills, Siddaramaiah said that the concerned minister has been instructed to take appropriate action to resolve the issue.
Successful Job Fair to Be Expanded Statewide
Commenting on the Mysuru job fair, Siddaramaiah said it had been a great success and that similar employment fairs will soon be organised across all districts in Karnataka to provide job opportunities to the youth.
