
Bengaluru: In the wake of escalating Janjhi violence in Nepal, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed officials to ensure the safe return of Kannadigas stranded in the troubled region.
According to preliminary reports, more than 39 Kannadigas are stuck at Kathmandu Airport, unable to leave due to the unrest. Expressing concern over their safety, the CM instructed Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh to take immediate steps in coordination with authorities and arrange for their evacuation.
Emergency Measures Ordered
Siddaramaiah has asked officials to remain in constant touch with Indian authorities in Nepal to ensure that the stranded Kannadigas are brought back to Karnataka without delay. He emphasized that their safe passage and return must be treated as a priority.
Rising Tensions in Nepal
Violence in Nepal’s Janjhi region has created a state of panic and disrupted normal life. The unrest has also affected Indian citizens, including Kannadigas, who were caught unaware in the conflict zone.
The Karnataka government is closely monitoring the situation and is expected to make further announcements as rescue operations progress.
