Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, during his city rounds, stopped his convoy to question civic officials after spotting construction debris dumped on the roadside along the Ring Road where there were no CCTV cameras.
Visibly upset, the CM instructed his driver Naveen to halt the car and personally inspected the spot. He ordered officials to trace those responsible, seize their vehicles, and register cases. “Are officials walking on the roads with their eyes shut? Can’t you notice waste being dumped so openly?” he lashed out, directing Bengaluru civic officials, BDA engineers, and traffic police to take strict action.

The CM also expressed anger over the neglect of service roads during metro construction. He was informed that service roads had been damaged, drainage outlets blocked, and even the recently laid white-topping roads had been spoiled due to metro work. Taking serious note of the complaints, Siddaramaiah ordered immediate repair of damaged stretches and directed officials to ensure proper maintenance of service roads.
