Yediyurappa blames returnees for increase in Covid cases

Marking the newly-announced Mask Day to make people aware of Covid-preventive measures, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa walked up to KR Circle from the Ambedkar statue at the Vidhana Soudha.
Speaking to the media after the event on Thursday, Yediyurappa said, “Mask Day is being celebrated to prevent a rise in infections. It will be observed in every district and taluk centre.” Extolling the virtues of wearing a mask, he said it would help protect others.

“If people had not come from other states, we would not have seen an increase in the infection rate,” Yediyurappa said, adding, “Police, doctors and Asha workers are working day and night.”
Besides the CM, Ministers Somashekhar, R Ashoka and CT Ravi, DCM Govind Karjol, MP Tejaswi Surya, MP PC Mohan and actress Ragini Dwivedi, Former international cricketer Anil Kumble and actor Puneet Rajkumar took part in the event.
