Bengaluru: A shocking daylight robbery has been reported from Neraluru village in Anekal taluk, where a woman was tied up and robbed of gold ornaments weighing nearly 200 grams by a conman couple who entered her house under the pretext of giving an invitation card.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 2:30 pm at the residence of Ravikumar and Nagaveni. Ravikumar, who works at a private company, had gone to work, leaving his wife alone at home. The duo posed as guests bringing an invitation card and asked Nagaveni for a glass of water.
When she went to the kitchen, the man followed her inside, dragged her to a room, and tied her hands and legs before threatening her with a knife. The assailant then forced her to reveal the key to the jewellery locker and escaped with gold ornaments worth several lakhs.

After regaining consciousness and freeing herself, Nagaveni immediately informed her friend, who then alerted the police. A case of robbery and criminal intimidation has been registered, and Anekal Police have launched a manhunt to trace the suspects.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused couple might have been monitoring the victims’ routine for several days before executing the crime. Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits.
Authorities have appealed to residents to remain cautious and avoid allowing strangers into their homes, especially those posing as guests or delivery personnel.
