BENGALURU:
Following a recent case of a 27-year-old female Covid patient in Bengaluru being reinfected some weeks after she was cured and discharged, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar has instructed officials to conduct a clinical study of such reinfection cases.
At a meeting with Covid task force officials at the Vidhana Soudha on Monday, the minister instructed the officials concerned to submit a report regarding the treatment of such cases in other states.

An official explained that when a person recovers from Covid-19, it takes at least 15 days for the body to produce white blood cells again. This might lead to reinfection in some patients. However, this cannot be considered a definite reason for the reinfection in the recent case, he said.
‘Booth-level work under Urban Development Minister’
Reiterating that Covid-19 can be contained better at the booth level, Sudhakar felt the situation can be managed better if the responsibility is given to the Urban Development Minister.
