Bengaluru, Nov. 29: MLA Krishnappa instructed the Bengaluru West City Corporation to launch strict action against bogus khatas created on government-owned properties across the Vijayanagar Assembly Constituency.
Speaking at a review meeting held in the corporation’s conference hall to discuss constituency-related issues, the MLA emphasised that officials must respond swiftly to the concerns raised by residents. He stressed that impersonation, manipulation, and creation of fraudulent khatas on government land must be curbed immediately, and that the influence of middlemen in revenue offices must be eliminated.
Property Tax Revision Must Be Sped Up
Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. informed the meeting that the revision of property tax must be completed without delay. He made it clear that serious action would be taken against revenue inspectors and revenue collectors who fail to discharge their duties responsibly.

Crackdown on Illegal PGs and Coordination With Police
Officials were instructed to implement stringent enforcement measures against unauthorized paying guest accommodations. The corporation must coordinate closely with the police department to ensure compliance and enforcement.
Rumble Strips at Accident-Prone Zones
During discussions on accident-prone areas, officials were directed to install rumble strips at all locations where frequent accidents are being reported. They were asked to identify such spots and prioritize implementation.
Road-Cutting Only With Permission
The MLA said that BESCOM and BWSSB must obtain prior approval from the City Corporation before carrying out any road-cutting works. They must also share the detailed plan of action with divisional engineers to ensure proper coordination.
Upgrade CCTV and Monitor Unauthorized Businesses
The CCTV cameras earlier installed by the Corporation must be upgraded, and live feeds should be provided to concerned police stations. The MLA also instructed strict surveillance of unauthorized trade licenses and unlicensed hospitals operating within the constituency.
Remove All Unauthorized Flexes and Banners
Officials were ordered to clear all illegal flex boards and banners without delay. The Commissioner announced that a large-scale beautification drive will be undertaken after December 15.
Speed Up White-Topping Work in Hosahalli
With the ongoing white-topping work at Hosahalli progressing slowly, officials were directed to accelerate the pace and complete the project at the earliest.
Additional Commissioner (Development) Digvijay Bodke, Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Manjunath Swamy, Joint Commissioner Sangappa, chief engineers, executive engineers, revenue officers and other senior officials were present at the review meeting.
