Western Australia’s vital ports of Dampier and Varanus Island have resumed operations after being hit by Tropical Cyclone Zelia, the most intense storm to strike the Pilbara coast since April 2023’s Cyclone Ilsa. The storm brought heavy rains and winds up to 290 kph before making landfall.
