Karnataka’s Covid-19 total mounts to 701
BENGALURU:
The death toll due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Karnataka rose to 30 after a 55-year-old woman succumbed to the virus in Davanagere on Thursday. Till afternoon, the number of virus-infected persons had reached 701 in the state.
“P694, 55 years, female resident of Davanagere, known case of diabetes and hypertension, admitted with complaint of SARI was on ventilator, died on May 7 at designated hospital,” reads the mid-afternoon bulletin released by the Karnataka health and family welfare department.
This apart, the state also witnessed 8 more fresh cases of the coronavirus. Three cases each were reported from Davanagere and Kalaburagi, followed by one each from Belagavi and Bengaluru Urban.
The death toll in Davanagere has reached 4, with the figures for Bengaluru and Kalaburagi the highest at 6 each, Dakshina Kannada and Vijayapura 3 each, Chikkaballapur and Tumkur 2 each, and one each in Belagavi, Bagalkot, Mandya and Gadag.
