BENGALURU:
The High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on a psychiatrist who filed a PIL seeking permission for sale of liquor during the lockdown. The petition of noted Hubli psychiatrist Vinod Kulkarni was dismissed.
Chief Justice AS Oka and Justice NBV Nagarathna dismissed the petition and suggested that the fine be paid to the CM’s Relief Fund.
The bench was upset that the petition was related to alcohol at a time when priority should be given to food, medical treatment, etc.
