German Chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz stated on Sunday his intention to engage in discussions with France and Britain concerning the sharing of nuclear weapons. He emphasized that these talks should be in addition to, rather than a replacement for, the existing U.S. nuclear protection of Europe.
