BENGALURU:
The state government has ‘advised’ Bengaluru’s Christ (deemed) University in particular, as also other deemed universities in Karnataka, not to conduct any exams except for the final year.
The ‘advisory’ by the Department of Higher Education on Monday takes note of the intermediate exams being conducted by the university and comes in the wake of a protest by the university’s students against the online exams. The students had demanded that the exams be deferred in view of the Covid-19 crisis.
In line with UGC guidelines, the state Department of Higher Education has directed universities coming under its purview to pass students, except for the final year, based on a combination of internal assessment previous semester results.
