10 lakh masks bought: Minister
BENGALURU:
The Karnataka government has decided to buy 1,000 ventilators immediately to meet emergency situations arising from the Covid-19 outbreak.
The decision followed a video conference on Monday with Scan Ray company and the District Collector of Mysuru. Health and Family Welfare Minister B Sriramulu, Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan, and senior officials Gaurav Gupta, Manjushree and Om Prakash Patil took part in the video conference.
Sriramulu tweeted: “A video conference was held with officials and Scan Ray company…The purchase of 1,000 ventilators was immediately concluded at the meeting.”
He added: “Our government has already taken action to purchase 10 lakh masks and 5 lakh Personal Protective Devices (PPE). The Department of Health is working to combat the infection on a war footing. I request citizens to adhere to social distancing.”
