Bengaluru: Karnataka’s growing stature in medical education and healthcare innovation was showcased on the global stage at the World Health Exhibition (WHX) Dubai 2026, with State Minister Sharan Prakash R. Patil highlighting the state’s progress and vision for international collaboration.
Addressing global health leaders and stakeholders, Dr Patil called for a united approach to healthcare challenges, stating that health issues transcend borders and geographies. He underlined that a healthier population is the foundation of stronger nations and urged the global community to work collectively toward resilient health systems.
The three-day WHX Dubai 2026 has brought together over 4,800 exhibitors from more than 180 countries, covering medical devices, imaging, diagnostics, healthcare IT, digital health, hospital infrastructure and allied services. The event is being held alongside CME-accredited conferences and knowledge platforms focusing on breakthrough research, artificial intelligence, telehealth and sustainable healthcare systems. Organisers expect nearly 270,000 professional visits, with participation from 33 international pavilions including China, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom.
During the exhibition, Dr Patil visited the booth of Aster DM Healthcare, where he appreciated the group’s integrated healthcare delivery model and its strong footprint across India and the GCC region. He interacted with Azad Moopen and Alisha Moopen, who outlined Aster’s comprehensive ecosystem covering primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary care, supported by advanced digital health initiatives. Ahmed Al Sayegh was also present during the interaction.
Later in the day, Dr Patil inaugurated Thumbay Medicity at the Thumbay Medical Centre, in the presence of Thumbay Moideen and U. T. Ifthikar. The inauguration marked another milestone in strengthening international cooperation in healthcare education and services.
The minister’s participation at WHX Dubai 2026 reflects Karnataka’s intent to position itself as a global hub for medical education, healthcare delivery and digital health innovation, while fostering cross-border partnerships to advance universal health outcomes.
