Bengaluru: The Bengaluru East City Corporation has launched a demolition drive to remove illegal floors built in violation of the approved building plans in the Hoodi sub-division, Commissioner D.S. Ramesh announced.
Officials found that two buildings had obtained approval only for the basement, ground floor, first floor and second floor. However, both property owners illegally constructed additional third and fourth floors, prompting immediate enforcement action.

1. Property Owner: Malini Vijayakumar
- Property No.: 03, Brindavan Layout
- Plot size: 30×40 ft
- Approved: Basement, Ground, First & Second Floors
- Violation: Illegal Third & Fourth Floors
- Status: Demolition underway.
2. Property Owner: Shivaprakash
- Property No.: 25A, White Rose Layout
- Plot size: 30×50 ft
- Approved: Basement, Ground, First & Second Floors
- Violation: Illegal Third & Fourth Floors
- Status: Demolition in progress.

Multiple Legal Notices Before Action
Under the BBMP Act, 2020, Sections 248(1), 248(2), 248(3), the City Corporation had issued:
- Show-cause notice
- Provisional order
- Confirmation order
Despite several opportunities provided under natural justice, the owners failed to remove the illegal portions.
Following non-compliance, the City Corporation initiated a demolition drive as per the confirmation order, led by the Executive Engineern TC Ravikumar and enforcement team.
